Brimfield Select Board Reappoints Police Chief Beaudry, Approves Trail Committee Seats
Select Board · Meeting of January 29, 2026
Brimfield Select Board unanimously reappoints Police Chief Bill Beaudry and fills six trail committee slots. Chair Martin Kelly — who said he "rarely ever" makes motions himself — led the 5-0 reappointment of Beaudry to a three-year term, calling his performance "exemplary." The board approved five one-year trail committee appointments and one associate member in a single motion, then cleared a MassDOT Chapter 90 reimbursement request tied to the Brookfield Road project, declared a snow emergency to authorize highway department overspending in the winter wages account, and authorized a $937 printer purchase for the Town Hall Annex after Administrative Assistant Chris DeFalco explained it was the least expensive model compatible with the Board of Health's copier. Six flea-market operator licenses and a conditional approval for 250th anniversary banners on town common light poles rounded out the agenda before the board adjourned to executive session to consider release of minutes from a January 12, 2016 closed session.
