The Select Board voted 3-2 to hire Katie Litton over Diane Panachon for a combined Senior Center clerk, transportation coordinator and kitchen manager role at $20.13 an hour.

BRIMFIELD — The Select Board voted 3-2 to hire Katie Litton over Diane Panachon for a combined Senior Center clerk, transportation coordinator and kitchen manager role at $20.13 an hour. Select Board member Tom Stewart said he weighted behavioral interview answers over resumes, telling colleagues one candidate's responses, including "Mr. Stewart, yes, I'm available.
I look forward to our call," showed stronger professionalism. Select Board member Crystal McGuire countered that Panachon had already subbed in the role and "knows the building." The center's incoming director told the board she was "torn on both of them" but favored a fresh start free of entrenched habits. The board declined to vote on an alternate nomination for Panachon once the Litton motion passed.
