Brimfield Select Board backed a new building department clerk position and accepted a town hall occupancy study. The board voted to support creating the clerk role at $19.57 per hour for up to 15 hours per week, saying the office currently has no staffer keeping regular hours. It also accepted an engineer's occupancy study that raises the Select Board's own office capacity to three people and sets two-person limits elsewhere in town hall.
The board moved to notify solar companies SE Solaren 2 LLC and SH Solaren 2 LLC about unpaid PILOT taxes carrying 14 percent interest, and accepted a fiscal 2027 operating budget totaling $249,888, a 9 percent increase. The board also appointed Molly Finnegan as its clerk and trimmed the annual town report print run from 350 to 200 copies.
